No Mass Production
Our
Celtic jewelry is not
mass produced or
machine made in a "jewelry factory." Each
item is individually hand crafted from scratch, very much as it was
done hundreds
of years ago. Here's
the basic process as it actually happens:
A highly
skilled model maker artist carefully hand carves the detailed original
design in wax or creates it using metal wire. A casting
and mold specialist then creates the mold and uses it to "shoot
a wax." This newer and softer wax model is then used to
create a metal (silver or gold) casting. The wax gets "lost" as
it vaporizes and is replaced by the casting of hot gold or silver. The
casting, now cooled and in rough form, is then passed on to our
finishing specialist. This person does all of the fine finishing,
polishing and assembly work on every piece that we build. After
finishing the work is closely inspected and any needed touch-ups are
made.
Our jewelers are artists. We
build one piece at at time, start to finish. Each step in the
process is performed by people who love their work and are true masters
of their specialized crafts.
