Measuring
Your Ring Size: If you order the wrong ring size you can have the ring resized in your home area or you can have us do it for you. It is probably less expensive to have it done locally because you will save the costs of round trip shipping and insurance. The cost for resizing and repairing rings is here: Repair/Resize If you are not certain about your correct size you can have your finger measured in a nearby jewelry shop or order one of our free ring sizers by clicking the free sizer button below. Either way, remember the importance of a good "snug knuckle" fit. We'll
lend a hand with solving your ring sizing problem by sending you
one of our imported ring sizing gauges. Just send a stamped
and self-addressed envelope to us as shown here:
Changing the size of a ring can be easy or difficult. It depends on how the ring is built. It will be nearly impossible if the ring has a continuous and uninterrupted knot pattern all around. Altering the size of such a ring will disturb the appearance of the knots. If, however, a sizing spacer has been built into the back of the ring, resizing the ring will not at all interfere with the ring's appearance. Rings with sizing spacers (spacer bars), can be much more easily adjusted. At MyCelticRings all of the rings with continuous braided knots have the sizing spacer built-in automatically. There is no extra charge for the sizing bar. We will build your ring without a sizing spacer if you insist, but it will void the 30 day refund guarantee. Visit our guarantee page and click the sizing spacer link for more details. Sizing spacers insure that your ring can be made to fit properly for a lifetime, they prevent knotwork overlap and do not at all detract from the beauty of our rings. On and off the web fine Celtic jewelers provide sizing spacers on all of their braided knot rings. Note that the design of some of our rings and bands have a "natural" sizing spacer; "natural" meaning that the design itself does not fully wrap around the ring and the blank area of the band enables easier resizing. |
| Things to remember to insure a good fit: Jeweler sizing rings come in 2 widths: wide (9mm), and narrow (3mm). Where available, a wide sizing ring should be used to find your correct size. Using a narrow one might result in your new ring getting stuck on your knuckle. If using a narrow one be sure that it allows for the additional width of your knuckle. Please leave any size changes up to us or at least discuss the sizing issue with us before you place your order. Please notify us if your ring size measurement was done using a narrow or a WIDE sizing ring; it will allow us to make any needed adjustment to assure a good fit. When ordering just order the actual measurement. If the sizing ring is right for you it will allow you to remove it in 1.5 to 2 seconds, even if it feels a little snug. Remember, snug on the knuckle. Special Note: When ordering any ring from us please just order the ACTUAL measured size. Do not add a "little extra" because the results are rarely ever satisfactory. Also, it is really not a good idea to guess at ring sizes; being wrong by as little as a quarter size can make a difference in how well the ring will fit. Important note: All rings loosen up within the first week of continuous wearing because the body's blood circulation makes an adjustment for the fit of the ring. If a ring size removes faster than 1.5 to 2 seconds it might fall off during swimming or sporting activity. Note to women: Due to the menstrual cycle a woman's finger size can rise and fall like the tides due to water retention during the cycle. A measurement taken during menstruation will produce a ring that is too loose most of the time. Avoid measuring your finger during the menstrual cycle. A surprise gift ring? The surprise will be far better if the ring fits properly. Enlist cooperation in getting an accurate size. "Borrow" a ring known to fit well and have a local jeweler measure it for you on a sizing mandrel (graduated sizing stick). We'll make the ring size accurately, even in quarter sizes (very few jewelers can do quarter sizes). |
